Course Duration

2 hours (1 x 2 hour session)

 

Target Audience

This course is for Practitioners who will be working with children who are known to suffer from anaphylaxis.

 

Period of Validity of Awarded Certification

3 years from date of completion of course.

 

Purpose of the Course

Upon completion, the trainee will have an understanding of anaphylaxis, why it happens and be competent to deal with an anaphylactic attack. 

 

Course Learning Outcomes will Include

The course teaches the following:

  • What anaphylaxis is, why it happens and what is going on in the body
  • How to identify the condition as quickly as possible
  • Immediate action to be taken
  • Administering an auto-injector (Epipen)
  • What to do if condition continues to deteriorate.
