Purpose of course

‘Everyday you are writing your story – each story unique!’

This ‘non-reveal’ self-awareness workshop helps set your life story in context. It helps remove the stigma connected to ‘mental health’ and allows staff to gain valuable insight into supporting their own emotional wellbeing. It illustrates how each of us can acknowledge, connect, and accept our life story as one that is unique to us. We then use this knowledge to individually create a roadmap to achieving better emotional health and life balance. The workshop empowers staff to be compassionate in using this language with their own families and the many families/networks they work with, impacting on the life of every child in their care.

Course Learning outcomes will include

• Thinking about your life as a ‘story’
• Consider another way to self-care
• ‘Label’ – what does this mean?
• Understanding the impact of your ‘story’ on you
• Tools/techniques to help you holistically care for yourself and others
• Awareness to the ‘Power of Story’
• Contemplate using a ‘different language’
• Signposts to agencies who can support you in your ‘story’
