To achieve an accredited certificate all participants MUST take the Level 2 Award in Food Safety exam.  For this, a fee of £12 should be paid to the Tutor directly on the evening otherwise you will only receive a certificate of attendance.

6 hours (2 x 3 hour sessions)

People who will be involved with the handling, preparation and delivery of food to children.

Period of Validity of Awarded Certification

3 years from date of award.

Purpose of the Course

Upon completion, the practitioner will have an understanding of a wide range of key food safety issues including the three main types of food safety hazard, their sources and methods of control. The course will meet the current (at time of delivery) legislative food safety requirements.

• Learn how to store and handle food correctly
• Be aware of common food pests and how to control them
• The principles of cleaning and disinfection
• The preparation of infant formula
• How to develop and review food related policies and procedures within a childcare setting.
