Often, early Early Years Workers are the first to identify concerns about a child's speech, language and communication development. However, Early Years Workers may be unsure how to broach their concerns to parents/guardians. Hanen Sharing Sensitive News is practical workshop that provides Early Years Workers with specific strategies for sharing information with parents in a way that emphasizes active listening and promotes positive collaboration. When we share the news in a way that is sensitive, family-centred and respectful of parents’ points of view, we greatly improve the chances for successful collaboration. The workshop will be delivered by a Speech and Language Therapist.
